Topic: “The Importance of Chores

Love and Logic strongly supports the idea of children doing chores. Not only does it prepare them for the real world, doing chores is a way of reminding kids they are important to the family and that they can make valuable contributions. In other words, “doing chores” boosts a child’s self esteem.

So how do you get them to comply? Good question! Discussion will include:

  • Why chores are so important
  • How giving children chores gives them some control
  • Methods to let them decide what they do
  • Strategies to combat resistance
  • How to get them to “buy-in” to the concept
  • Empathy and Consequences
Mom’s Support Group meets once more during the Fall and is open to all moms with kids from tots to teens. Winter meetings will be posted in November.

If you are seeking some practical solutions to everyday challenges and are looking to connect with other moms to share the blessings and challenges of day-to-day mothering, then this is the group for you.
